American Legion Neal Post 743 Chaplain Duane Hatch tosses flags into a fire during a flag retirement ceremony on Thursday afternoon at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville. The Flag Day ceremony retired more than 1,000 flags that were frayed, torn or discolored and collected during the past year.
